Katherine graduated from the University of Pretoria in 1994. She worked in a welfare and small animal practice in Cape Town before moving to England to work in a  small animal practice. After 2 years, Katherine returned to South Africa and lived in a rural village in the mountains, where she opened her own mixed animal practice in 2003. Katherine then started a veterinary welfare trust in 2011, named Cluny Animal Trust, which is still operating in the Eastern Free State.  

Katherine emigrated to New Zealand with her partner and daughter in January 2022 and is now living locally in Whangaparaoa. Katherine has a passion for animal welfare and also a special interest in soft tissue surgery. She is an incredible asset to the team at Whangaparaoa Vet Centre with her extensive knowledge, experience and passion.
